Though some continue to draw on the respect and prestiges earned by their antecedents, about half of Halflings have returned to the simple lifestyle that their forefathers lived in the old lands, long ago. This community does its best to keep things simple, establishing small Halfling communities here and there of farmers, brewers and the other simple jobs that so enriched their lives before now. The other half have learned to live as nomadic clans. The nomad families honor their ancestors’ explorations of the new lands by living off it as they move from place to place. Nomadic Halflings usually dedicate their worship to the goddess Balani Lightfoot. They live her ideals by making sure they do not stay in one place too long, so their lives are ever changing; they never draw more resources from any one place than the land can stand. These nomadic families have spread all over the continent, and over the hundreds of years many of their family customs and traditions become shaped by their nomadic roving. These families can be found in every environment in the new lands, from the deserts of Arenarius to the jungles of Rassin. A couple of families have even included the Underdark in their nomadic routes, where they learn to harvest resources from dark stone places in their travels.\\ Though some continue to draw on the respect and prestiges earned by their antecedents, about half of Halflings have returned to the simple lifestyle that their forefathers lived in the old lands, long ago.
