Can't seem to log on

Hi all,

My user name is KYPHEN and there are some familiar names that may remember me from years ago. So nice to see the world reincarnated and I hope to play sometime soon. After many computer machines later I bought from GOG and installed the diamond set. I went on to try to direct connect to 72.54.15.61.5121 but get a message as follows:

Attempting to find server
connection to server has failed
server not responding (timed out)

I am tech challenged and am often asked by help desks "is your computer machine plugged in sir".

so if you can respond to my dilemma please talk to me like I am around 4 or 5 yo.

Also are there any characters from years ago still lingering in the old vault? NP if not...looking forward to a new build but I did have a pretty good crafter i could use right off...but not necessary at all...a big part of the fun is new builds.
