Dropping money into inanimate objects (signs/chairs etc)

Did you know you can 'place' your gold pieces (and probably items) "into" the chairs and sign outside the Wandering Badger?

Instead of clicking on the floor, in an attempt to transfer some gold to another character, I miss-clicked the sign. "You lost 200,000 gold pieces", my log tells me. The gold is nowhere to be seen. The sign is indestructible. My gold is as good as gone. Nothing happens when I click on the sign.

I try it with 2 gold pieces on a nearby chair to test the effects. The same thing happens. :O

I'm sure a fix for this is not a high priority - so I offer this post as a caution to others. Any chance I could get a reimbursement some time?

I will let Raradra or one of the others answer this, but as far as I know, there is no fix for this situation - some "fixtures" in the game are placeable, and gold or small items can get stuck under them.

Trade windows are the best way for trading gold and everything else. If you're talking about twinking, since it's frowned upon we never replace anything lost this way, regardless of why/how it was lost.
